On September 28, the Taiping Tunnel of the newly built Liuzhou–Wuzhou section of the Liuzhou–Guangzhou Railway, constructed by China TIESIJU Civil Engineering Group under CREC, was successfully completed, marking the breakthrough of all 54 tunnels along the railway.

Located in Wuxuan County, Laibin City, Guangxi, the Taiping Tunnel is a key control project along the Liuzhou–Wuzhou Railway. It has a total length of 4,628 meters and a maximum depth of about 267 meters.

The Liuzhou–Wuzhou Railway has a total mainline length of 238.167 kilometers. It is a national Class I, double-track, electrified railway designed for both passenger and freight transport. The route includes 54 tunnels totaling 82.34 kilometers in length and is designed for a top speed of 160 km/h. Passing through Liuzhou, Laibin, Guigang, and Wuzhou, the line features 10 stations in total. Once operational, it will significantly enhance transport connectivity between Guangxi and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area, playing an important role in improving the regional integrated transport system and promoting high-quality economic and social development along the route.
