On October 10, the first automated production line for bonded insulated rail joints in China, invested and built by China Railway Hi-Tech Industry and China Railway Baoji Bridge Group under CREC, was officially put into operation.
Bonded insulated rail joints serve to connect rails to rails or rails to turnouts, forming a unified structure equivalent to the rail itself. They bear the impact, longitudinal, and lateral forces generated as train wheels pass over joints, as well as thermal stresses caused by temperature variations. As a critical component of the track circuit, these joints are widely used in turnout zones and seamless railway lines.
Independently developed by China Railway Baoji Bridge Group, the production line integrates core technologies such as bonding surface pretreatment, joint alignment, and temperature control. With automatic alignment and clamping technology, rail alignment precision reaches 0.1 mm per meter. The precision temperature control system keeps fluctuations within ±3°C, ensuring high straightness and uniform adhesive layers, effectively meeting the high-safety and long-lifespan requirements of railway operation. The production management system is fully digitalized, enabling real-time monitoring and intelligent analysis of equipment status, process parameters, and production progress. Operators can control the entire production process through terminals, marking a transformation from manual management to digital-intelligent management.
