On September 30, the 220kV substation of the Ordos Jingao PV Low-Carbon Demonstration Base—the largest of its kind in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region—undertaken by China Railway Construction Engineering Group under CREC, successfully achieved full-capacity power transmission.
As a core supporting facility of the Jingao PV Low-Carbon Demonstration Base, the project has a total substation capacity of 1,280 MVA, meeting a load demand of 779 MW. It provides stable and reliable power for the intelligent manufacturing base that produces 20 GW of photovoltaic modules annually.
After commissioning, the project will greatly enhance the reliability of the regional power grid, improve the grid structure in central Ordos, and provide strong power support for the development of high-tech industries. It will help build Ordos into a hub for green new energy equipment manufacturing and effectively promote local industrial upgrading.
