On October 13, the steel structure of the Media Center at the Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center was topped out. The project was undertaken by China Railway No.2 Group and China Railway (Jilin) Northern Industry under China Railway Hi-Tech Industry.

As one of the core venues for the 15th National Winter Games, the Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center consists of three major buildings—the Comprehensive Ice Arena, the Speed Skating Hall, and the Media Center—with a total construction area of about 263,800 square meters. The topped-out Media Center steel-structure tower is 77.8 meters tall, with 16 floors above ground and one basement level, and a total steel structure weight of approximately 4,000 tons. It adopts a steel frame–core tube structural system.
Upon completion, the Shenyang Wangjiawan Ice Sports Center will become a first-class ice sports complex both nationally and internationally. It will enhance the city’s capacity for cultural, sports, and health industry integration, adding a landmark building to Shenyang’s vision of becoming an international hub city in Northeast Asia.
